Twitter Rolls-Out 280 Character Limit

Twitter 280 character limitIt looks like Twitter’s 280 character limit tests went well, as the social media network has now rolled out the update to all of its users.

What does this mean? Well, it means that your tweets can now be twice as detailed as before, as the character limit has increased from 140 to 280!

Although the update was only made yesterday, the noises coming from social media are all extremely positive, with many users praising the fact that they could now provide more detailed and descriptive tweets than before, whilst others had already noticed that their larger tweets had already started to gain more likes and mentions.

Meanwhile, other users stated that, once the novelty had worn off, they expected that the average tweet would reduce in size to the old 140 characters.

You clearly can’t please everybody!

Despite this, we believe that the change was required for Twitter to ensure that it doesn’t fall too far behind its other social media competitors, and the 280 character is certainly a step in the right direction.

Just don’t mention the 280 character increase to Donald Trump!
