Yahoo
Yahoo was co-founded by Jerry Yang and David Filo in early 1994, and has since gone on to become one of the most visited websites of all time.
Yahoo is primarily a search engine, but also enables visitors to own an email account, as well as visit the Yahoo Directory and view the latest news around the world.
Although not quite as popular as its fiercest rival Google, Yahoo still manages to attract an average of 130 million unique users per month.
Most recently Yahoo was at the centre of a takeover bid by Microsoft, where £44.6 billion was offered for the company. However, this bid was declined by Yahoo’s board of directors as it was deemed too low.
